In the hands of the experts: YouthBank UK Chair on leadership and accountability
A RightSpace interview with Erin Wright, Chair of YouthBank UK and participation worker with Young Minds
Erin Wright has been a member of YouthBank for 11 years and a Trustee for the last five.
As current Chair, she talks to RightSpace about the culture and style of leadership that she has sought to develop within the trustee board: its energy, willingness to learn and celebration of different styles of decision making.
The young trustees’ commitment and accountability are extremely high, drawing on their own engagement as young grant-makers, bringing diligence, attention to detail and good governance through the tough decisions that have had to be made.
Erin also describes her own personal journey from local member to Chair, managing changing relations with friends and adult workers, including managing the Chief Executive.
